CHESHIRE LINES (Cheshire Lines Sports & Social Club)

WEST CHESHIRE LEAGUE DIVISION THREE, CHESHIRE LINES 0-2 RAINHILL TOWN RESERVES, ATTENDANCE: 28 (h/c)

Tonight was my first ever dip into this division (for what is Step 9 in the English pyramid system) and It was a good match to watch in all fairness. Obviously low on quality but plenty of chances were created, and missed, by both sides.

A goal in each half, from Luke Garvey and Ryan Burke, won it for the visitors but the home side can consider themselves unlucky not to get something out of the game, especially after their second half domination.

Cheshire Lines have reformed for this season and joined the West Cheshire League, after resigning last October from the Liverpool County League. Cheshire Lines were originally established in 1874 and their history is intertwined with that of the British Railways.

They play at the Cheshire Lines Sports Club, just a stones throw away from Liverpool South Parkway station in Garston, Liverpool. The ground is shared with cricket and is railed off on two sides. A very pleasant way to spend a Monday evening.
